As the global automotive industry accelerates toward electrification and intelligent mobility, the supply chain is undergoing fundamental transformation.
HULANE Precision, a company with nearly 50 years of experience, has launched a comprehensive corporate transformation initiative in response to this major industry shift. Beyond the introduction of Brand 2.0, the initiative encompasses leadership success planning, R&D capability enhancements, international expansion, and sustainability governance.
This article integrates insights from recent interviews and leadership perspectives to explore how HULANE is shaping its strategic direction for the "next 50 years."
Since its founding in 1977, “integrity and pragmatism” have shaped HULANE Precision’s core culture.
Facing rapid changes in the automotive industry, the company has entered a new stage of transformation.
The second-generation management team is gradually taking key decision-making roles, viewing “embracing a long-term strategic perspective” as their most important mission.
“HULANE has been a product-driven company for the past 48 years. Now, we must clearly communicate to global customers:
We are not just a connector manufacturer —we are contributing to the future of mobility.”
—— HULANE Precision Management Team
The core spirit of Brand 2.0, “Stronger Connections, Bound for Excellence,” is not merely a visual refresh.
It reflects the company’s recognition that future supply chains require deeper collaboration and earlier-stage R&D involvement — driving a comprehensive transformation.

Why has HULANE been able to evolve from a component supplier into an integrated solutions partner?
The answer lies in nearly 20 years of close collaboration and iterative development with OEMs. As early as 2003, when BYD entered the automotive market, HULANE joined its wire harness team in the development phase. Since then, HULANE has participated in early-stage platform planning and co-development with an increasing number of automotive brands, accumulating significant platform-level application experience.
Today, HULANE's solutions are adopted by multiple leading automakers, covering:
Luxury brands and emerging EV makers
EV platform seat-harness solutions
Ambient lighting, audio systems, speakers, and module integration
High-power and High-frequency high-speed transmission solutions
All of these achievements are built on HULANE's portfolio of nearly 5,000 products and extensive cross-platform integration experience.
Against the backdrop of industry-wide upgrades, HULANE has increased its R&D investment to 5-6.5% of annual revenue, optimizing products and enhancing technologies for electrification and intelligent applications.
Automation in both assembly and measurement processes further improves manufacturing efficiency and yield. In term of electrification, future connectors must withstand higher current and voltage - making high-power transmission technology a key R&D focus.
Meanwhile, intelligent vehicles require higher bandwidth and greater data throughout, increasing the importance of high-speed transmission and low-loss performance.
To meet these demands, the R&D team is focusing on:
High-Speed Transmission Technologies: boosting bandwidth and reducing signal loss, supporting vehicle electronics, high-speed data links, and intelligent modules.
High-Power / High-Voltage Technologies: designing connectors with greater tolerance and enhanced safety performance for EVs and data center applications.
Low-Contact Resistance & High-Durability Materials: studying new materials and surface treatments(e.g., gold or silver plating) to reduce heat and enhance conductivity.
HULANE has also strengthened simulation and analysis capabilities, introducing FloEFD for high-current thermal simulation and CST for high-frequency modeling - improving deisgn accuracy and shortening development cycles.
To ensure products meet application requirements before customer submission, the company has reinforced laboratory validation capabilities, including EMC testing and SI testing.
Looking ahead, HULANE will expand its R&D focus to Smart Power Distribution Unit(Smart PDU) technologies.
The company already possesses integrated hardware, software, and structural design capabilities and plans to further develop chip design capabilities to provide complete power-control solutions.

HULANE views sustainability not as an "additional task" but as a fundamental requirement for entering the global market. The company is advancing E/S/G initiatives in parallel:
Envirnonment(E):
Pursuing both short-and long-term strategies, including achieving a 10% annual reduction in carbon-intensity by 2025, increasing the use of renewable energy, and steadily progressing toward net-xero emissions by 2050.
Social(S):
Developing a sustainable supply chain platform, collaborating with suppliers on long-term development, and strengthening transparency and communication with investors.
Governance(G):
Upholding integrity, implementing long-term veritcal integration strategies, enhancing cross-border investment management, and introducing the TCFD climate-risk assessment framework.
Sustainability has become a core part of HULANE's competitive advantage for the next stage of growth.
Following the pandemic, the automotive supply chain has undergone rapid restructuring.
HULANE is not only strengthening its presence in Asia but also expanding into Southeast Asia and Europe, shortening development cycles through localized production and localized development, thus improving cross-reginal collaboration efficiency.
Looking ahead, HULANE will continue to focus on "strengthening the chain," include:
These capabilities guarantee agile and resilient global operations.
From April 15 to 17, HULANE showcased its high-speed, high-power, vehicle-level solutions and Smart PDU concepts at electronica China.
This marked its first appearance as an Intergrated Solutions Partner following the launch of Brand 2.0.

Facing a once-in-a-century transformation in the automotive industry, HULANE will continue advancing mobility technology with an open, forward-looking, and pragmatic approach.
